The formation of Higham Hill Muslim Community Trust in July 2014 brought together a group of volunteers with the combined experience of over 12 years dedicated service in the voluntary sector.
Its purpose is to encourage locals people to serve their immediate community so that a more tolerant, cohesive and inclusive society develops that respects individual cultural, social, religious and ethnic backgrounds of the people of Walthamforest.
Higham Hill Muslim Community Trust was established by a coalition of local residents in July 2014 and this small voluntary body has grown during the intervening years and flourishes today. They brought together a broad range of experience in the field of community work.
In July 2014, Higham Hill Muslim Community Trust began its first meeting at the chairman’s home where he pressed his ongoing concern at the need to provide a local network of volunteers to meet local needs.
In July 2014 saw the expansion to a number of members who were prepared to spend a few hours at the weekend engaging with the local youth, parents and the elderly. Here individual positions and aspirations were profiled and guidance provided where possible.
The future plans of Higham Hill Muslim Community Trust are to expand by firmly having a presence in a number of neighborhoods in the borough Walthamforest.
Within the next few years, Higham Hill Muslim Community Trust will build on the network of voluntary workers and we believe our commitment and dedication will make a significant difference to the fabric of Waltham Forest society.
Within the next quarter, with a base in either Walthamstow or Higham Hill we believe we can improve on delivering a reduction in antisocial behaviour.
Our plans are to register as a Charitable Organisation.
